need to repeat controls in detail section on every page of report

I have been charged with creating a report with a subreport of variable
length (usually 1 to 20 records long). I have formatted the header and footer
sections to allow the detail section enough room to print exactly four
records from the subreport on each page. My problem is that I need the same
information from the main report to print on every page directly to the left
of the subreport. (I am not allowed to change the design of the page.)

I have tried putting all the controls from the detail section inside of a
header section and setting the RepeatSection property to Yes, but then the
report is only one page long.

Does anyone have any ideas?
