Up until 2 weeks ago ,and I can't explain what happenned, no viruses or
anything else, I must of sccepted sometihng changing a default setup, my
OUtlook 2003 used to prompt me a message dialog box asking if I wanted to
view the junk mail folder, right after doing a send /receivce of my email
account. Now it doesn't auto prompt me to review it. I haveto manually view
it. I would ldike this setting refreshed and reset. Any ideas whatI goofed up.

I haven't heard of this function. Outlook can prompt to show the Junk folder
after you receive Junk email. The dialog has a checkbox to disable it. I'm
not aware of a method to restore that except to possibly return Outlook to a
1st installed state using the /firstrun switch. That switch will restore
*everything* Outlook to a first run state. A search in Outlook Help for
"command-line switches" will tell you how to use it if you want to go to
this extreme.

if i do reset outlook 2003 using firstrun command line, will i loose the
data update i have made to the pst file concurrently being used . For the
meantime i set up a reoccurrence task to remind me to check this folder. I
will try to do a detect and repair, maybe that sohuld fix things to. I am
currently updated as best asi know how, xp pro sp2 and all of the office
updates to including lastest junk mail filter data file. thanks for the
response, i wil lalso pose this forum questin to microsoft via phone

I doubt you will lose any data in the PST but it would be a safeguard to
back it up (copy it) first. Data from a backup can always be restored. Rules
might be lost - I'm not sure on that. Export your Rules first just to be
safe.
