Need to vertically align an image in line with text

While trying to create a specification page for a product such as to place on
a stand beside a product, I want to put a line saying "Exclusively available
at ", followed by the product logo centred at in the footer of the page.
However, no matter what I have tried, I cannot figure out a way to vertically
centre the image in the line instead of having it stick up (like text of a
larger font), without increasing the size of the text to the height of the
image (or vice versa).

In HTML, this is very straight forward as there is a vertically align tag
for images. In word, if I select anything other than "In line with text" for
the image's layout otions, only the text is centred on the line, however if I
leave "In line with text" selected, all the alignment options for the image
are greyed out.

At the moment the only solution I have figured out is as follows: I create
a two column table, insert the text "Eclusively available at" in the 1st
column, insert the image in the 2nd column, vertically slign the contents of
both columns, decrease the cell margins (to reduce the gap between the text
and image), disable preferred width for both columns and turn off borders and
lines for both columns.

I'm sure there must be simpler solution than using tables to vertically
align images in line with text.

The table is not a bad idea, but another possibility is to use the Character
Spacing tab of Format | Font to lower your inline graphic to a centered
position. This will require some trial and error, and your paragraph line
spacing will need to be set to Single to accommodate the full height of the
graphic, but it should work.

I have tried this method and it seems to work well after a few tries ;-)

For templates where I often change the image, I'll stick to using tables as
the image's vertical position is automatically centred, however the ability
to lower the height of the image is what I have been looking for when it
comes to inserting a once off image that needs to be vertically centred.

Thanks for your help.
