I need to make a format that can subtract hours AND show negative hours.

Can anyone help?

Excel can only display negative time if you switch to the 1904 date system
(Tools/Options/Calculation). If you do that, all of your dates will be "off"
by 1462 days, so you'll have to subtract the number 1462 from them. If you
need to do that, type the number 1462 in a cell somewhere. Edit/Copy that
cell. Then select the cells with the dates (hopefully they are all in a one or
two columns), then Edit/Paste Special, and select the Values and Subtract
options.

It's best (obviously) to set the date system before you start entering data.

Hi Lene,
The 1904 date option (on or off) applies to the entire workbook.
Actually being under the topic "workbook options" within
the calculation tab, it is one of the few options that actually
indicates the scope.
