. NET Framework 1.1 SP 1 will not install

After many attempts, I am unable to install "Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
Sercice Pack 1".

To the best of my knowledge, my .NET Framework appears to working correctly.
My OS is Windows XP SP 2 Professional with Office XP installed.

All and any assistance is recieved with gratitude.
