.net grid vs. activeX control

I’ve seen much fanfare about how Project Server 12 has increased the use of
..net grids and minimized the use of activeX controls. What does this
mean….why is this good?

Basically it means there's greater interoperability with other browsers other
then IE as activex is only compatible with IE.
