Does anyone know where I can find some information on
networking an access database and the security

The Access Security FAQ is a good place to start:

Read it, read it again, then try it out on a COPY of your database. There's
also been book published on the subject (just recently, can't think of the
name, but I'm sure Amazon or some other book place could search it out for
you). Also, the Access Developer's Handbook is invaluable in this area ...
