do i need to install ms home and student 2007 in each of the computers on the
home network

You will need to install it on any computer you want to use Office 2007
on that does not already have it, assuming such installation is allowed
under the MS Home and Student license agreement allows. The network makes
no difference.

I think the implied question is whether Office could be installed on only one of
the computers, and then used over the network by the other two. The answer is
no, except for the possible use of Remote Desktop or something similar to
"drive" the Office computer from one of the others. Office needs to be installed
on the computer where it's being used.
