New appliction of WORD 2000 starts every time I open a new Document

This problem seemed to come from nowhere. But suddenly,
every time I open a new documanet, a new appliction of
WORD 2000 starts . So with 1 document, everything is fine,
but open or start a second document and it runs in its own
application of Word. Everything else is OK. IS there a
setting somewhere?

This of course gobbles up memory and soon you are dead.

In Word XP and 2003, you can turn this option off by going
to Tools>Options>View and deselecting 'windows in taskbar'.
Word 2000 doesn't let you set this option as simply - see
the following link for a fix:
http://www.annoyances.org/exec/software/word2000fix

I'm not sure there's a significant difference in memory
usage though.
