New Computer, Office XP Upgrade

Bought a new computer using XP. Would like to move Office
XP standard to new comp. Office XP was the upgrade
version when I upgraded from Office 97. New computer does
not have any Office product on it. Must I reinstall
Office 97 before using the XP upgrade? Also, must I
uninstall from the old computer to let the CD know I did
for the new computer to install properly? I still have
the product key available. Please advise what I should do!

No. Office XP setup will ask you to insert the Office 97 CD as proof of
Upgrade eligibility
