New contacts that I didn;t put there

Somehow or another, my contacts seem to be self populating without me doing
it. It seems my outlook is taking info from emails I'm receiving and then
adding thwem to my contacts list automatically.

Does anyone know how I can stop this?

As I have loads of contacts with whom I have no idea who they are and who
I'll never contact.

Thanks for advice.

Outlook cannot and does not do this. Provide more information such as your
evidence that it does.

Are you looking at your Contacts folder or are you talking about the names
that pop-up when addressing an email?
In case of the last; it's a feature called AutoSuggest which contains a
cache of addresses that you've used before.

You can turn on/off this feature via;
Tools-> Options-> Email Options-> Advanced Email Options...

I'm referring to my actual "Contacts".

It looks like my contacts import details of people from emails I get.

For example, if Bob sends an email to A, B, C , D and myself, the details of
A and E might automatically go into my contacts list.

I'm forever having to delete contacts which I never have heard of but I know
might be in the To: list within emails I receive.

Outlook itself has never been able to do that on it's own AFAIK. Are you
sure you are actually using Outlook and not outlook EXPRESS (which CAN do
that?)
