I am building a new Access database. Can someone give me the first step? I
only want the first step right now. Thank you.

Turn off the computer and use paper/pencil to normalize your data.

A table (in Access) is a "bucket o' data". You can try to throw everything
you want to know into the same bucket, but if you do that, you might as well
be using a spreadsheet instead.

As Klatuu points out (and Jeff Conrad's website elucidates), to get the best
out of Access' features and functions, you need to understand something of
relational database structure and normalization.

Good luck!

A "bucket o' data" is like a "bucket o' chicken"
If all the parts are in the same bucket, you will get your fingers all
greasy trying to find a drumstick :)

LOL

A real chicken lover goes to bed with a leg in one hand, a thigh in the
other and still wants another piece :)

need. If not, I will be back. Now I'm hungry for fried chicken...
