New doc. has existing text!

I have word x and when i bring up a new doc. it has text already . I
had not been able to get fix this problem.I then got office 2004 and
shure enough it happens with that version also! Can some one help
please? It is very frustating to have to deleat the text every time i
bring up a new doc. Thanks

You evidently saved some text in the Normal template. Open it directly
(by default it's in the ~:Documents:Microsoft User Data: folder). Delete
the text, then save it.
