each time i open a new word doc. double line spacing appears . using word in
office 2007 have tried resetting and used options and is fine but when i
open a new or blank doc it resets to doubline line spacing . just want a new
doc to be not double line spacing and set at 1 not 1.5 as happens now. 2007
seems too coplicated and too advanced from 2007.

In the Styles group, on the Home tab, click the Styles Dialog Box Launcher
(arrow at the bottom of the group of the far right side) to display the
Styles task pane; right-click the Normal style and select Modify; in the
Modify Styles dialog box, click Format and then click Paragraph to display
the Paragraph dialog box; in the Indents and Spacing tab under Line Spacing,
click the down arrow and select Single from the drop-down list

Then click the radio button for New documents based on this template and
click OK twice.

All new documents based on the attached template (presumably the Normal
template) will be single spaced rather than Multiple 1.15 li spacing.

In Word 2007, the Normal style default line spacing is 1.15 lines, the
default spacing before a paragraph is 0 points, and the default spacing
after a paragraph is 10 points. You need to change the Normal style
line spacing to single and the spacing after to 0 points, and then click
on Default. See
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HP100165231033.aspx "DRAFT:
Adjust the spaces between lines or paragraphs" for more information.
