New document -- no top margin visible

When I start a new document, the cursor is in the upper left hand portion of the page -- right at the top. I test-printed a page and the margins (once printed) are the way they should be.

The function is okay, but the look on the screen is disorienting. Any suggestions for how to change the onscreen appearance of my document

Thank you.

Move your mouse pointer up to the top of the page (below the ruler). The
pointer should change with a message about space between pages. Click then
and your margin areas should appear. Having the margin space display
switched off will also turn off the (pale) view of most headers/footers.

See the MVP FAQ: <URL: http://www.mvps.org/word/> which is awesome!

On the offchance that doesn't work, it could also be that the View menu is
set to Normal.
