New Document

When I open a new document an old document comes up. It
says new doc 1 but thee is already writing in the
document. I must have saved the document at the
template. How do I erase that so I get a blank document
when I open it?

Set your View to show all hidden files, find and delete NORMAL.DOT, and reopen Word. It will be recreated. Next time you save a doc, be sure to check the Save In box for the .DOC extension and not the dot one.

Until you are sure that it doesn't have anything you want, renaming is
better than deleting normal.dot.
