New email diappears after being opened

When a new email is opened, it disappears from the Inbox, and when message is
closed, the email is completely gone. New email has to be moved to a
different folder before opening in order for it not to be lost.

Check your view settings to make sure you arn't filtering on unread
messages.

Tools| Options| Preferences tab| Junk Email| choose No Automatic Filtering.
Otherwise it moves any email from people that are NOT in your address book to
a junk mail folder because it doesn't recognize them as one of your
recipients.
