New Mail Desktop Alert Not Working

Hi All,

I have Outlook2003 with desktop alerts, envelope icon and play sound
configured but none of the alerts tell me I have new emails. I have turned
off the feature, turned it back on again and reinstalled/repaired. There are
no rules set up and all my email goes to Inbox via Exchange server. It works
for the rest of the office.

Any ideas why this won't work for me?
