New message notification envelope not showing

S

Steve M.

Hello,

I've searched here and have found that others have had this problem also. I
have just upgraded Office from XP to Enterprise 2007. There were no issues
prior to upgrading to Office 2K7. I have already checked the obvious
solutions I found posted here. I have the task bar set to not hide icons and
the option to show the new mail envelope is checked on Outlook's options.
One thing I have noticed is if I go into the taskbar properties and check the
option to Hide Inactive Icons and then click Customize, it has an option
listed for You Have New Unopened Items. The Icon it shows for this option is
not the envelope, it shows the standard Windows folder Icon. Is this normal
or should the envelope icon be there. If so, any clue how to fix it? Thanks.

I guess this is a tough one. I'm thinking about just doing a fresh install
instead of an upgrade. If I export my mail to a .pst, will this include all
accout information I have setup, I have 3 pop3 email accounts setup in
Outlook. If not, is there a way of exporting account information? Also,
will a simple uninstall be enough or will I need to manually delete anything
left behind. Thanks.

Dont worry about it, sometimes windows just renders wrong icon. The text
determines the right item if you wanna change the setting.

I have the same problem and have done all the things the original poster wrote.
I hope somebody has a new idea.

I have the same problem regarding the notification envelope and I've tried
all the things that are recommended on this post, but nothing works.
Any new ideas?
