new messages don't show up in the inbox

We are using exchange 2000 and a few people are having the
problem. Basically they don't see new messages unless the
refresh the screen or do something that would refresh the
screen normally (switching folders, etc..)

We've tried everything.

1) reinstalled office
2) new profile
3) deleted and recreated mailbox
4) reimaged machine

the reimaging fixed it, but a day later the problem is
back. If anyone knows of a setting I can change to fix
this, it would be much appreciated.
