new messages offline notification

Is there a way to have Outlook send me an offline notification of a new
message from a particular sender?

For example... I'm out of the office and my boss emails me. Oulook sends a
prearranged text message to my cell phone. I then log on through web mail to
read and reply.

If this is not possible how can I get my idea to MS product developement?

Before you go on vacation tell your boss to send a text message to your
phone if he needs to. Duh!

If you use Exchange for your mailbox, you can ake a rule to do that. If you
don't use Exchange, you can still do that via a rule, but you'll need to
leave Outlook running while you're gone so it can process incoming messages
and send the notice to you.
