new mouse system

I would like to have the ability of using my mouse to scan a line or two of
information, so I do not have to type in a long http address. I do not want
to scan whole page, just certain info that can then be copy/pasted where
needed.

You mean you want the mouse to act as a scanner on printed text? Because
certainly you can already select URLs and the like in electronic documents,
Web pages, etc., and use Ctrl+C to copy.

If you want the first option, then the suggestion is inappropriate in a Word
discussion group since this is a hardware issue.
