New Outlook Profile Removes Messages from Server

Mel

I created a new profile so I could check my work email
from home. The type of connection is VPN and the profile
type is Microsoft Exchange Server. I can't find the
option to leave a copy of message on the server. I have
other profiles for POP3 servers and I can find the option
for those servers. Any help is appreicated.

TIA

If you connect directly to the mailbox, and do not specify that a local PST
file should be used for delivery, there's nothing to download - you're just
viewing it.
Don't use POP and don't use PST files. Set up a profile that has the
Exchange server only - and configure Outlook for offline use/cached mode as
well. Methods vary by version of Outlook, which you haven't posted.

With Exchange, the mail is always stored on the server until you move it
to a local personal file folder. Next time you sign on to Exchange from
your work machine, it will get synchronize again.

If you have Outlook in Internet and Exchange mode the default delivery
location is personal folders which will deliver mail to your local
machine, you need to edit the exchange profile to deliver mail to
Mailbox:-(Yourname). you will then have to draq and drop the old stuff
from personal folders back to your mailbox folder.
