New PMS 2003 Install - AD Connector cant access global catalog

J

Joe Buccini

I am new to PMS so bear with me. Install went ok but when I set up the AD
sync it fails with the following errors for each of the groups. The PMS
services are all set to use a domian admins account (administrator for that
matter while I troubleshoot). All other domain related functions work on
this particular server (the AD master is a SBS 2003 server while the PMS
server is just a member 2k3 R2 server).

Component: AD Connector
File: AutoADProcess
Line: -1
Description:
ADsObject_Get_AsRS - Can't access the
global catalog of domain

Then:

Component: AD Connector
File: AutoADProcess
Line: -1
Description:
Accessing AD group PM-Project Managers
failed due to error 20004-FetchGroup: <Error><Component>AD Connector
</Component><File>AutoADProcess</File><Line>-1</Line><Number>0x4e24</Number>
Failed
to get record of group PM-Project Managers from active directory global
catalog] ]>
</Error>

Lastly:

Component: AD Connector
File: AutoADProcess
Line: -1
Description:
AD PWA sync for : PM-Project Managers -
AD Group Error - cause likely to be group does not exist

My intial thoughts are that this is potentially not PMS Connector related
but I need to start somewhere although Im not seeing any other domain related
events on either server involved.

Thanks!!

Joe

Joe:

Did you setup the master AD sync record as well as the group records? Did
you use dashes in the Global group names? These and spaces can cause
problems. Make sure that you use only alphanumeric characters in naming the
global groups.

First, thanks for the response. I did have dashes in AD group names which I
removed and I do the the mastser record in place.

Still getting the same errors listed below.

Any other ideas?

TIA

Joe:

Then we have to go with a literal translation of the error. Why is the
access failing? What account is your system using?
