new powerpoint presentation using slides from existing presentatio

I am a beginner powerpoint user and have been unable to locate the directions
to complete this process.
I know that it should be simple!!

Here are a couple of things you could try.

(1) Start a new presentation. Go to the Insert menu and choose "Slides from
file..."
(2) Open the old presentation. Go to the File menu and choose "Save As..."
to save the file under a new name. Now delete any slides you don't want in
the new presentation from this, a copy of the original, presenation.
