New profile - what about existing pst?

I have multiple persoanl folders and recoved folders after using the
repair tool. None of the posted fixes will remove them. One of the
recovered is probably the archive as it is missing in the folder view.

To fix I beleive I should create a new profile which I have not done
before. In using the wizard I do not see an option to select the
existing pst file. Should I be creating a new one then importing?

A new profile, by definition, does not have an "existing" PST.
First, make sure you know which PST file you want to use.
Note its name and location.
You may then add it as the default PST to your new profile.

Russ,

So am I correct in assuming that it is "the profile" which can hold the
duplicate personal folders and that they are not held in the existing
PST file?
