New Project Task

I want to ensure a certain user cannot create a "new project task". Sounds
simple enough so in the security settings i marketd New Project Task as
"Deny"

However this user can still create new tasks.. its driving me crazy

I have removed ALL security settings down to the bare essentials.. i.e.
login etc

but still nothing

its absolutely driving me insane and hope someone can help.

New Task permissions are referring to PWA only, not to project professional.
Are you having problems preventing users from creating new tasks in PWA
(Project Web Access)?

thanks for the reply, what I am trying to do is prevent users with access to
microsoft project from creating NEW TASKS.

basically one users role is solely to adjust cost entries and not do
anything to the project plan itself.. i.e. new tasks or delete them.

it is this i am trying to stop?

Hi Tim,

you have the abillity to remove the new tasks in PWA, and you have the
abillity to disable users from using MS Project, but there is no easy way to
prevent users that have access to Project Pro to not allow them to add new
tasks.
