New repeating appointments not saving :-(

I have the new version of Entourage version 12.0.1

I have been trying to insert and save re-occurring dates such as annual
appointments, birthdates etc.

They are not saving.

What I am doing is clicking on a calendar date, entering the new event,
clicking all day event, usually asking for a reminder from 1-3 day ahead of
time and saving it one of 2 ways
1) Clicking on file save or
2) Using Apple S

What is the fix for this?? Is it a major bug??

Single appointments are not saving either.

I did set some of the notification defaults to off.... But now I can not
find how to re-set them to see if that makes a difference

What account are you using? Exchange or non Exchange? What calendar is this?
Local or Exchange calendar?

Could you drag out the "Save" button by customizing your toolbar in event
window and see whether that is grayed out after you modify the event? If
this is case, most likely you don't have the write permission to the
calendar somehow. You may try to set up your account in a new OS user
account see whether that works.
