NEW SIGNATURE(WITH .GIF PIC) WONT DISPLAY THE PICTURE

I followed the instructs and made a new signature / .gif picture in it.....
it looks correct in signatures options, but when it it used in e-mail the
picture has a box with a red x in it ......... help
