New, strange icon in lower right box of Outlook 2002 window

Recently for no known reason, I have this new icon in the
utmost lower right box in the Outlook 2002 window. It
looks like a disk drive (silver colored rectangular box
with a line under it) and it has a red "X" on it. Please
advise as to what this is and how it affects Outlook.
Thanks

Could be in offline mode, perhaps?

That means you're in Offline mode. Click File and uncheck "Work Offline".
