New Tasks aren't given the 'ASAP' constraint --- please help

Whitley

I am using Project 2002. All of my new tasks are not getting the default
constraint type of "As Soon As Possible", even though I have selected project
options as "Schedule From Start Date". Please help how to fix so that a
new task I enter comes up with the "As Soon As Possible" constraint type.

Hello Whitley,

Check Tools > Options, Schedule tab and make sure New tasks "Start
on the Project Start Date" not "Start on the current date".

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Also, Whitley, make sure you don't enter Start or Finish dates as Project
will alter the constraint to meet your demand . Instead, enter Durations
and the logic Precedences, whence Project will do as it is designed and
calculate the scheduled dates for you.
