New version soon?

Hi all! :) PPT 2002 XP

I was thinking to upgrade to the 2003 since I now have XP Pro. But, before
I invest in the 2003, I thought I'd check and see if anyone here knew it
there was a 2004 version in the wings.

Hi There

I use the powerpoint which comes with the office 2003 version. Apart from
the fact that you can not load it on your machine unless you are using xp I
find it very good. I'm afraid I don't know anything about a 2004 version.
As far as I know the 2003 version is the latest. Any way best of luck with
what you decide.

I wouldn't bother, Jan. PPT 2003 is so very similar to 2002 that I don't
think it's worth an upgrade. (Unless you do a *lot* of CDs or something, and
then the Package for CD feature would be a *very* nice thing to have.)

Just my $.02, though.

Hi Steve! :)
Anyone who knows is probably not permitted to tell you. Anyone who tells
you
may not really know. The statement on the other side of this message is
false.

If 2003 offers something you need, I'd go for it.

'k...I'm wanting to move into the animations a good deal more at this point,
and Echo and Kathy J said that the 2003 version had some really cool new
features. So, I wanted to see what else the newer program has.
There's actually a 2004 version out already, but it's for Mac. It
wouldn't be
happy on your computer. And this being 2005, I doubt that a Windows 2004
version's likely to appear. ;-)

W'll....ya know what I mean.....was there...was it here already
or....or....eh...it's 2005??? Really? I didn't I get that memo....???
I'm too old for Mac attack at this point. Guess I'll just move on up to the
2003 and hang out there for a while. <g>

Thanks for the update.

But...are the animation thingies better in 2003? I remember some while back
right after I got the 2002, I asked if the 2002 ccould do the spiraling,
unfolding feature, that could look like a flower unfolding on opening the
slide, and was told that it was possible to do that in 2003, but, not 2002.
Is this still the case? That is one of the types of things I am needing to
do.

Hey Steve! :)
The animations in 2002 and 2003 are the same, so no real point in bumping
from
one to the other for that. OTOH, 2003 seems faster and a bit more
sure-footed
to me. OTOH, it has more security-related nuisances. Sigh. Maybe skip
the
animations, find a copy of PPT97 and ... nah, that won't do, will it? ;-)

Good thing you don't have more than two hands...... ;o))

Gah! Now that I have XP, I sure don't need any *more* secutiry gizmos and
nuisances. :/ So....guess I'll hold around a bit longer with the 2002 XP
for now.
Blissed out again, eh? Glad to hear that life's good. ;-)

It has been a busy time for sure, and great ;-) Just got somewhat settled
into the new house. It is my second move in 5 months. I still had not
gotten fully unpacked from the cross country move from San Diego last
October! <g>

Thanks for the add-on. <g>

I don't remember the specific "unfolding" animation you were looking for,
Jan, but the animations and transitions are the same in PPT 2002 (aka PPT
XP) and 2003.
