New Vista and Office 2007 search tool crashing Outlook

I have Vista 32 extreme and Office 2007 and since I have done the latest
updates in relation to the search engine changes (Google litigation threats)
to the Microsoft one the ability to change back from an email search in
Outlook back to anoter directory causes Outlook to hang for a considerable
time. If I close Outlook when I open it again it reconstructs the databases.
I search almost every email for matching subjects so this is a disaster.

Any ideas and is a bug fix on the way?

You mean you get a notice that Outlook wasn't properly closed when you
restart Outlook and that the database is being checked for errors? Which
addins do you have installed? Do you still have the Google Desktop Search
installed?

From the information provided, my guess would be that your pst-file is still
being indexed by either Windows Desktop Search and/or Google Desktop Search.
