am using Word 2003. What is the default document named? I tried a
search on nomal.dot and got nothing.

Howdy,

"Doc1.doc" but...

Have you tried searching for the file by looking for some
text you know it includes?

If I do a search on 'normal.dot' through my entire drive I would think
I should find it. I did not.

Tools - Options - File Locations - User templates

That will tell you where your normal.dot is. I don't know why you can't find
it with a search. It could be done that way to keep people from messing with
that file and ..........well, screwing it up.

Hei its very simple,

Try to save your document as Document Template

In the Save As Type there are more options are available.

While you Selecting Document Template, it Shows the Default Path of the
Normal.dot is placed. Try it.
