Add the Word and PDF files to content of your website
(drag and drop them from Windows Explorer to the Contents
view of FP). Now, on one of your web pages simply create
a hyperlink that points to the Word or PDF document.
Creating a Hyperlink is very easy to do, simply type some
text onto your webpage, then highlight it, right click on
the highlighted area and select Hyperlink from the popup
menu. The 'Insert Hperlink' dialog will appear. Just
navigate to the Word or PDF file you want and then click
OK. Simple or what?

Thanks for everyones help.

I know how to create the hyperlink and yes they could opt
to save the file "save target as".

But..... There are sites e.g. Microsoft Partner site -
where you can click on the PDF or Word icon and it will
automatically download to you PC. I'd like my site to be
able to do the same if possible any suggestions?

On many of those sites, they use a custom written server-side script to force the download.
