Newbie query - can I bounce back emails that are too large

Hi

In my sports club not all of us have broadband at home so we have an
agreement that we do not mail unsolicited photos round the entire club with
5 versions of 'Me and my boat in the sunset'.

However one particularly inconsiderate person keeps sending me just such
photographs and it keeps my phone modem occupied for ages. We've tried to
explain to her many times but she keeps getting carried away.

I can't just block her emails as she also sends round useful dates and
information occasionally.

Is there any way in which I can instruct my email client, Office Outlook
2003, to refuse a download of a particularly large mail from that particular
address, maybe with a comment 'Download refused as file size exceeds x MB'?

.
There is no way that I am aware of. You might make up a
message and send that to her each time. If she is so dense
as to not honor your wishes, she won't recognize it as not
being automatic.

No. Outlook would have to have downloaded the message first in order to do
anything with it. Might want to check your mail via your host's webmail
feature (if they have one) or www.mail2web.com first & delete what you wish
before downloading, if she's really incapable of learning. Or politely reply
with a request that she send you enough money every month to pay for DSL or
cable. :)
