Newbie Question, Displaying scaled measurement while drawing a lin

Hello,

I'm trying to find a setting to allow Visio to show the scaled measurement
as I draw a line. As I draw the line, I'd like to see the value change with
line length.

I'm guessing I'm not looking in the right spot.

menu Tools -> Options -> View
and tick Status Bar

Now create a line (from the line shape on the drawing toolbar).
Initially it shows the X and Y coordinates. Once you've created the
line go back to the Pointer symbol and drag one end of the line, the
status bar will show the line length and angle in the current page
scale units.
This only works for lines, not connectors.

Adding to what Paul stated, you can go to View > Size and Position Window.
This is another feature, which also allows you to enter values directly.
