Hello;
I have created a form to allow us to maintain our software application
assets. The inventory lives in a SQL Server 2008 database.
Since the form is to be used to both create new records when we
purchase new programs or update existing data, I have a Drop-Down List
Box that via a Secondary Datasource, contains the list of all of our
applications. If the user types in a non-existing app name, then all
fields remain blank so the user can fill in new data. If the user
types in an existing app name/selects it from the dropdown, I would
like to be able to pre-fill all of the fields (45 of them) with the
data contained in the Secondary Datasource.
I’ve read various ways of doing this using rules, but it doesn’t seem
to work – The most I can get is that fields are being filled in but
with the first record in the database only and not the actual values
associated with the selected application.
Any ideas as to how I can do this?
