newby question on counter

Dear human,

I have installed a counter (FP 2003 XP) fully in accordance with the manual,
yet is doesn't seems to work. You can see it alright, but it doesn't count.
It remains at 1 (even my own visits from other computers are not counted
...).

My site is hosted by Lycos Webcenter, so that should not be a problem.

What could be wrong?

They have a counter that gives you detailed information about visitors to your
site. A visible counter does nothing to enhance a web page.

If it helps you I have had the same problem but have not investigated it. My
site host is Yahoo and they only support FP2002 so it might be that. However
Tom J's response is also valid.
