Just a note, if you didn't already know: we're not "support guys and
gals" other than by choice; nobody's paid to answer questions here,
we're all volunteers. Even the occasional Microsoft employees answer
questions on their own time.
There are a variety of good newsreaders, many with passionate
devotees. I'm pretty pleased with Agent (
www.forteinc.com); Outlook
Express is also pretty commonly used.
As far as I know, very few of the volunteers use any web interface:
just too slow and clumsy. Microsoft steers users to
support.microsoft.com's web interface, but there are better
alternatives.
