Newsgroup Reader in Outlook 2003 has dissappeared

C

Chuck Hudspeth

My newsgroup reader in Outlook 2003 has disappeared. I
originally followed MS instructions to add the reader to
my toolbar and the software worked fine.

One day it dissappeared and there is no longer an option
to add it to my toolbar. I have used the repair
installation feature; however, this does not work.

Has anyone else had that problem.

To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, click the "Don't ask me again" box and then click the No button.

You may need to reset the menu or toolbar using Tools, customize.

I have had the exact same issue. To help, I have windows
XP pro, and use the Microsft Office (student & teacher
edition) 2003. I went to customize toolbar, then commands
tab, go, drug new button over. Now, it is gone, even in
the customize box. I also used the repair feature, and no
luck, the button has disappeared.
