Newsgroups [nntp service] built into Outlook

It's always bothered me that newsgroup access isn't integrated into Outlook.
I use Microsoft Office, and newsgroup access would be a compelling feature
for me.

It's true that the majority of business users might not have much of a need
for it.
In some ways access to newsgroups could even be a liability of sorts. Any
and all business concerns over newsgroup access though can be limited with
the proper controls in place. Those controls could be set by default to
exclude all *.binaries newsgroups. They could also exclude the ability the
post news through Outlook, automatically filter a possible posting of the
company name, etc.

This is mainly a feature aimed at home users of Microsoft Office products
and some business' would be able to benefit from it as well.

Your comments are off-topic for this newsgroup, which is devoted to
Microsoft Access, the database product of the Office suite, but I can't
say I disagree with you. But didn't they add newsgroup access to
Outlook 2003? Even if not, I seem to recall that there are a number of
add-ins to Outlook to provide newsgroup functionality.
