Newsreader-how do I clear out 20,000 posts?

Hi,

Bottom left (just above "Start" button) for some groups reads "6,000 (or
whatever) message(s), 150 unread, 22,000 not downloaded".

I imagine things might go a little quicker if I could clear out the old
messages which I 've already reviewed. How do I do that? --And if there are
messages I have marked "Watch message" will I lose those?

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups). The links under the newsgroup
references are for use with MS's web newsreader (not exactly the best way to
post but it works for some people)

account will be deleted without reading.

Dean, I know there is a way to clear all posts , whether they are read or
not (tool-options-maintenence-cleanup... but I too would like to know if it
clears out the ones we have marked as Watch. I guess if noone answers , we
could try it ourselves,lol Goodluck, Christine
