i hope someone can help us. I have read many threads and am unable to find
the answer that works to solve this problem. I have windows vista ultimate 64
bit system, the question is related to Outlook 2007. suddently after a year
the program would not open, i recieve an error message i see others have
recieved, it tells me to use the inbox repair tool, (scanpst.exe) when we did
this we found that it only reached of the 8 scans it was trying to
accomplish, we continued to run it several times and it did get farther but
never past 4. It was suggested that we save the pst folders and unistall and
reinstall the program. whicn we did to no avail. the new install, still came
up with the same error message. any further suggestions?

Uninstalling / Reinstalling outlook has no impact on the data files or
Outlook Profile
If scanpst.exe cannot repair the data file, and you should undertake several
scans, you could also run chkdsk or your hd manufacturers disk utility to
check for hd err's
If its still no go then your only option is likely to be a third party
recovery company.
Using the Mail applet in the control panel, you can create a new data file &
remove your old data file
(removing doesnt delete it)
