no background color in ribbons or drawings in docs or spreadsheets

Hi,
I have an issue where I don't have any background color in any ribbons or in
the base documents unless it is a picture. For example, the logo on the top
left in Excel, appears to be black frame with white color. theis is
similiar in word, etc. In word if you draw an square and try to fill it in
with a color you are not able to see the color though it prints out with the
color. In excel spreadsheets colored cells are not showing as color though
you can see the text in the box.

I am using Office 2007. In addition there is no ribbon colors.

In IE7 there is no tab colors, or colors in the internet pages unless it is
pictures.

I re installed XP, the video drivers, (I have tried two graphics cards),
reinstalled office, I have went through all the settings in the Display
Advanced etc no luck.

I am using Office 2007. In addition there is no ribbon colors.

It was working some time ago but has stopped.

I am at a lost of what to do next.

Perhaps you set the High Contrast option in Windows operating system?
(See Windows, Help and Support, High Contrast)
