No backwards compatability?

I just got two new computers loaded with WIN XP and Office 2003. Made an ad in Publisher 2003. Sent the ad to our office network which is running various older versions of WIN and Office.

The file can't be read.

Is this true? Tell me it's not, because:

If I wanted to buy Office 2003 for all the older computers on the network, I would also have to update all their OS, too. Ridiculous!

Somebody tell me there's a way around this?

Well it is true, but their are workarounds.

Well you can make a picture of the ad in Publisher 2003, you could make a
PDF if you have a full version of Adobe Acrobat.

You can do a SAVE AS in Publisher 2003 as an earlier version, but you will
loose all the features in Publisher 2003 not present in the earlier
versions.

illegally held prisoners they are
torturing, abusing and denying
human rights being held at
Guantanamo Bay.

Thanks. I didn't know I could save it as an earlier version. I will try that. It is not a complicated creation, so I don't think there's anything I couldn't have done in earlier versions anyway and I hope not to lose anything

And since you mention the prisoners . . . they should not be kept as they are; you're right. They should be tried and then dealt with accordingly . .

Apelles,

Prisoners of War usually are detained until combat ceases and a treaty
is declared. Then they are released or tried before a World Tribunal if
war crimes are suspected or alleged.

Mike those victims of the US political system are being held illegally, in
inhumane conditions, being tortured, not allowed visitors or legal
representation and denied human rights. The US should free all those
prisoners held there illegally in Guantanamo Bay
The US must expect retribution for holding them illegally and in the
disgusting manner the US is.
When will you Americans wake up you are your own worst enemies.
The next thing you will start screaming when the retribution arrives in your
local neighbourhood.
You can never beat fanaticism, you need to learn to live with it and not
make it worse - which is what the US is doing.
The US is inciting violence towards western countries.
Unfortunately we do not have a choice of not being part of it.
Look what a fool bionic bush has made of himself and the US in the UK -
unbelievable.

David,

I have invited you to debate me one on one, privately, and you have
declined. If all you seek is being noticed, I'll let you have your say
and not reply. But if you really wish to address me and try to convince
me that what you post contains a shred of truth, my address is
(e-mail address removed). You also have my phone number.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Mike

Publisher 2003 files can be opened in 2002 with minimal formatting loss, and
no need to "Save as" the older version.
Publisher 2002 runs on Windows 98, ME, NT4SP6, 2000 and XP

Thanks. I saw a similar answer elsewhere and have now done that successfully

You are right, perhaps. I should have asked about it first, although one might reasonably assume a company would not put out a product that ruins older versions. And, as it turns out, they didn't, as this fix was apparently planned

Thanks again . . . I had not noticed the "save as" options. (If we still got some documentation I may have seen it in the book . . . I know, we always have "Help," an oxymoron at best
