No Bookfold in Word 2008?????

With all love and respect to everyone... This thread started out to be
how to create and print a bookfold from Word 2008 for the Mac. This is
a fundamental and trivial exercise in Word XP and Word 2007, but no
joy in Word 2008. I wonder why. In fact, I am bamboozled that this has
disappeared as a Microsoft Word capability in 2008. There must be a
reason and I'm curious to have it explained by Microsoft, particularly
after I recently shelled out a day's pay for Mac Word 2008. I have
created probably over fifty bookfolds on XP and 2007, but now that I
spent $2000 on an iMac and an additional $200 for Mac Word 2008,
financed by a modest legacy from my dear Aunt, I am so bummed out. It
looks like I'll have to spend another $200 for our faithful old pal,
Word XP and install it on Boot Camp. Sounds like moving backward in
order to move forward, and having to pay $$ for the experience.

Hi James,

this feature did not "disappear" in Word 2008; it has never been a Word
feature on the Macintosh. However, there is a simple workaround:

* Save your Word document as a PDF file.
* Download Cocoa Booklet (freeware). <http://tinyurl.com/6abq5c>
* Open the PDF file in Cocoa Booklet and have it create a booklet for you.

Add it to your PDF Services menu and you can streamline the process. File >
Print, PDF > Booklet.
