No calculations can be performed now

We are using Project Server 2003 and keep getting the message:
"No calculationis can be performed now.
There is a circular relationship...The successors of this task refer
back to this task or its predecessors, causing a circular reference."
The project loads, but tasks can't be displayed. We can see tasks in
other views such as Resource Usage.

Is there anyway to recover the project? We have not found a way, and
have to have the database backup restored to recover the project.

Does anyone know it there is of a Microsoft software fix for this issue?

In the future, please post your Project Server questions to the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is closing
down. To answer your question, you might try the following:

1. Open Microsoft Project
2. Click Tools - Options
3. Select the Calculation page and set the Calculation Mode to Manual
4. Click OK
5. Open the project in question

With manual calculation enabled, you might be able to see the task list and
troubleshoot the circular reference problem. Just a thought. Hope this
helps.
