No clipart

I'm using Microsoft Word 2000 (9.0.4402 SR-1), part of Office
Professional. I've just noticed that my clip art has gone AWOL!
Looking in Options>File Locations, there's not even a default path
against the Clipart entry.

Where on my HD am I likely to find it please? Alternatively, what are
the file extensions, so that I can search for it myself?

Hi Terry,

The entry in Tools=>Options=>File Locations for Clipart
is the starting point used when you use the
Insert=>Picture=>From File
method to add a graphic.

For Word 2000 the clipart that you install and access through
Insert=>Clipart is located in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Clipart
The basic Clipart 'catalog' would be CAGCat50.MMC

Thanks Bob. I had tried looking for WMF files, and duly entered this
path as the default:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Clipart
It contained various subfolders:
corpbas
corpmm
homea im
photohm
Pub60Cor
Publisher
smbusbas
standard
WebArt

But that still didn't get Insert>Picture>Clipart to display
*anything*. So I dug out my CD and did a full repair of Office 2000
Premium. Happily I now have clipart again!

In that folder you specified, there are 3 subfolders:
autoshap
cagcat50
themes1

For future reference, would I have got it working again by specifying
the default path as
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Clipart ?

Hi Terry,

In this case the repair was probably the better approach :)
If you had .WMF files you could get to through Insert=>Picture=>From File
but couldn't import them then the path chosen was probably
not the issue.

You may want to visit http://officeupdate.com and see if
your Office 2000 copy is up to date.

I was very surprised to see Office Update report that one of the
'critical updates' I require is 'Office XP Service Pack 3' - as I
don't *have* Office XP!

Hi Terry,

You may want to check in Add/Remove programs to see if
there are any 2002 series MS Office programs listed.
Any of them will show the XP/2002 update item :)

Well, I have MS Outlook 2002, would that be it? Anyway, are you
confirming this is some sort of bug in Office Update, that mistakenly
thinks you have Office XP?

Hi Terry,

MS Outlook 2002 is part of the Office XP suite.
It's not a bug in OfficeUpdate. The core files
of the suite are common to any of the standalone apps.
If you're running a 2002 Office product you'll be
asked to include the Office XP(2002) updates as well.
