I didn't find a solution but I did find a work-around...
My new Dell computer has the option of assigning different users their own "log-on". I loaded MS Office and the problems I'm experiencing with no color showing on screen when I use Word Art only happen under one log-on name. When I open Word under a different user name the problems don't exist! I'm not sure how to fix this issue but at least I figured out how to get around it

can you expand on what constitiutes an "appropriate driver" and how I can check that. I did verify the printer options and they are set for color. Did I make it clear that the problem is strictly limited to the on-screen view, but the print out is full color. Thanks for any help you can offer! I was originally blaming my monitor or computer, but someone suggested it may be a problem with my MS Office software.

(View - Color/Grayscale). Now Ppt is fine but my Excel and Word is stil
BLACK & WHITE. I can change font colors and I can see that color on m
monitor, however all Word Art is black & white. In Excel I have an or
chart with text boxes and colorful shadows on the boxes. They are no
visible on-screen, however they show the color in Print Preview and o
course they print in color. Is there a setting in Word and Excel to mak
the display on the monitor show up in color
